Default Remote access key programming

Hi all,

I purcahed 2002 A6 C5 2.7T with one key and broken door lock which I cannot insert the key into.
I managed to find another used key from other car and in addition I purchase new key from eBay in order to program them.
I managed to program the used key to open and closed the car using VCDS and the original key stoped working and I could not program the new key at all.
I tried several times with VCDS and always ended up with only the used key from the other car to work.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Yaron

You may have hit the 4 remote key fob limit.

More info here, at the bottom of the page:

I reset chanel 00 and retry programming all 3 keys, and I sill was able to program only 1 key and the same one as before.
Is there a way that the new key I purchased from eBay works on other frequency than my car cluster ?
If yes how can I tell ?
Tx

Well, it could be that your new fob is 315 MHz and the Audi fob is 433.92 MHz. Perhaps trying another used fob might be the answer.

Of course, there is another possibility...

And there in lies the problem. Wrong frequency. The 434 mhz unit is for newer cars.

You may be able to get some of your money back by reselling the wrong transmitter on Ebay or a similar site. Keep us posted about how things go. This is a good tutorial for others.
