In addition to getting my plastic thing crunched, I lost my switchblade. (not related to damage).
Dealer wants a total of $220 to send vin to California get key cut and program it to my car. On the other hand, I see remote with blanks on ebay for $50 to $75. This seems like a deal and they are suppose to include "programing instructions".
Has anyone done this? What do I need to program it? Also, to get it cut, all I have is the valet key, which works fine but I think it won't open the tailgate from outside. That's not big deal to me if i get the remote that works. However, is the valet key cut different than the one i lost? Will most lock places cut this for me or is this a dealer thing too?
