Hi,
I have 2003 Allroad.
I would like to remove the Onstar module, i am wondering once I do that, how can reassign the phone buttons (bottom left and bottom right) on the steering wheel so the function to control the radio functions like they do on non-onstar models. Do I need to do any Vag-Com coding to do this? If so where can i find this info.
Thanks

Yes, you can re-code the steering wheel so that the R/T and telephone icon buttons become < and > buttons. Just go to module 16 Steering Wheel, and change the last digit from 1 (Radio and Telephone Operation) to 2 (Radio Operation).
If you decide you want to swap out the buttons themselves, there is a guy selling a new set for $72 in the various classifieds.

They are affixed to the airbag, so you nee a torx driver (T25?) to remove the airbag. Obviously, the car should be off, and just to be safe, disconnect the battery.
