Default Completely agree; I travel between White Plains and the Bronx everyday and....

quick manuevers and paralell parking are the "rules", not the exception.

For these purposes leaving it in place is fine. My A42.8QTipS, had "heavy steering", but was much smaller and lighter than the A6 so it was easier to "toss".

Best Regards,

Default I love life without the 605 except below about 5mph. I spend

so little of my life at speeds that low and enjoy life so much more at 5mph+ that it just isn't worth it to me to put the thing back in. I feel like I've gotten a new--and much sportier--car. Get some steroids and suck it up. Another bonus: The steroids will make you a much more aggressive driver. And if you really **** someone off in traffic you'll have no trouble finding the strength--not to mention the rage--to tear them apart.

Default Well I've had it out for about a week now, and I really enjoy it.

I've had to parallel park, navigate tight parking lots, narrow residential streets, heck my own driveway is a feat to get into. I find that the extra effort is reasonable. It still feels like power steering, just not overboosted like the Servo did. Even after playing raquetball for the first time on Saturday (I am f'n sore!) I can handle it. Even one handed.

Default How hard could it be to just make a switch?

I thought someone had already done this.

Or,

use that fancy VAG tools to program it to shut off over 10mph.

Default Some people have.

I'd be among them if I wasn't afraid to void my warranty.

Default Had mine out & put it back after 2 yrs. just to see..

I guess mine's a 605 ('01 Avant). I liked it with it out, got a little tired of low speed effort, so popped it back after 2 yrs. to see what I'd think about it. That was about a yr. ago and I haven't taken it back out.

My other car's a '73 911 so I'm used to heavy steering. Less boost than the 605 would be good but it's not worth it to me to buy a 628 (anyone want to trade, LOL?) and I can live with it.

Quick Reply: Removed my 628 relay and then had to re-install it....
