removed spark plug and found missing prong....should I assume it melted or i have a piece floating

around - if so, what should I do? These were NGK iridiums - about 1 year old

It DID go out the exhaust and through the turbo on that side..the only question is how much damage did it do. If you don't have bad noises (damaged turbine can be out of balance) just keep going.
OTOH, if your car is still under warranty and the dealer did the spark plug change, have the dealer inspect the turbo for damage as well as the head (IIRC you said the plug was loose when you removed it).
If the turbine is damaged/out of balance, the warranty should cover it.

The vulnerable parts would be the valves/seats and turbos (well, only one really, but I digress). Hopefully the missing prong bounced between the valves and the turbine blades...and is either sitting atop the pre-cat or has already been cooked away.
