Default Removing Catalytic converters for test pipes? benefits

Just wondering if anyone has removed their Cats and replaced them with Straight exhaust pipes (also called test pipes). Specifically for the 2.8 V6 I Want to know if you noticed any significant performance or MPG changes????

No Emissions here so not worried about that, but I have not looked to see if our cars have post Cat o2 sensors

Bad smell, CEL, no real gains. It's a 2.8; enjoy it as is or sell it for something else.
