Default removing road paint?

a few weeks ago my wife drove over an unmarked (so she says) freshly painted yellow line. unfortunately she didn't wash it off before it dried and now both driver side wheels wells and some body trim looks like a bright orange jackson pollock painting. does anyone know if there is a solvent that will remove this paint? some of it scrapes off with my finger nail, but there's just too much and i dont' want to damage the finish with any sort of scraper. thanks for any ideas you might have

You are seriously out of luck. I had the same thing, (white) happened few years ago. The body shop tried everything in the solvent cabinet.. and nada. Only recourse was to replace the plastic bets and sand and paint the hard parts.

Contact your sate highway administration. If you can pin down the day, location, and time, they carry insurance for that.

i figured as much, i might as well spray paint the orange splatter in the wheel well black to hide it and get my fingernails ready to scrape the remainder off the body work

luckily most of it's in the wheel well and the not too much on the black plastic lower body panels (volvo), it's pretty thick paint so i can scrape the chunks off, but will have to figure out what to do with the residue. the DOT responded to my email about it and they didn't know of any solvent either and suggested i go to a body shop....it doesn't bother me that much!
