Repairs on a aluminum hood?
I am trying to get my hood fixed from a good size rock that dropped down from a construction truck recently. It left two 2" dents on my hood and scratched my windshield as well (not spidering though). So now I am trying to see if it can be fixed. I went to one body shop and they said they can do it but since its aluminum they can only fill it in and repaint it. the second body shop said that since its an aluminum hood they can't grind it so i would have to replace the whole hood.
Just trying to see if this is true and if anyone has any similar experiences.
TIA

I am NOT happy with the job a local specialist did on my Hood.
Rippled and ugly is how it turned out. Aluminum stretches more than steel, so it's harder to massage the dents out. YMMV.

I had a similar scratch/dent on my hood. It is being repaired now...

I had some other scratches so I turned it in to my insurance, no deductible and no increase in rates because it is a comprehensive claim rather than collision. Here is a picture of the before. I will post pictures of the after once I get the car back.
Good luck.

PDR should work if you find a good tech
The aluminium that audi uses is real nice to work with. I have had my fair share of pushing dents out of aluminium panels and they turn out just fine if you start off right. If you need to find a good local tech go to www.doording.com.
There are a lot of great techs on that site that should be able to help you out.
