Now, u can see on the winter PIC. Looks like new hood, its just that the paintjob wasn't performed good enough, if some more scratches appear, i'll repaint it for $160-200 more, thats it.

Default They told me that even if PDR could take out the ding...

it would "stress" the paint because the paint isn't made to flex like the metal can, so that even if it looks good after you do it, down the road you can have cracking/spidering and/or rust problems. I decided just to get it fixed "right" or at least the best way without replacing the hood, and since my insurance was paying for it, I wasn't going to risk doing a PDR just to save a few bucks. Also, in addition to the dent, the scratch went through the paint, so just taking the dent out wouldn't have fixed it all anyway. Even though Brat2's damage looks horrendous, there doesn't appear to be much paint damage, just bending.

Default BTDT, this past week.

Find a reputable shop that has an aluminum panel 'spot puller' machine. Essentially, the machine arc-welds an aluminum tab onto the hood panel to which they secure a slide hammer to pull the dent flush. The only filler they do is a light skimcoat to fill the residual dents.

(I'll take some 'after' pics this evening when I pick her up from the shop)

The tough part is that most shops don't want to bother with a small job like that, and will tend to quote you a high number. I looked into a used hood and repaint, but never got so far as to find a solid number.

As others mentioned, a reputable dent shop which has the ability to properly repair aluminum panels will likely be your best bet. Good luck!

Default So did they bend it back most of the way and fill the rest with bondo?

300 is ridiculously cheap for repair and repaint
