Hey gang upon swapping to my summer shoes today I discovered grease everywhere in the front left wheel well. HOw long does this take...should I venture it myself?
Local dealer quoted $140 labour, $70 part CANADIAN $
Also, they were just in there last month replacing the tie rod end. I did not see anything that looked new in there; should I? where exactly is that beastie?
Thanks, Bruce in Victoria

If you wanna DIY, there's a how-to in Audipages. My inner CV boot was contaminated. Audi changed the whole unit, outer and inner.

Inner CV boot driver's side.

there are some minor differences in tool sizes...you gonna need 17 mm hex(allen)...it's "up to the armpits in grease" job but besides that nothing special

Andys article in the tech section
