Default Replacing control arms >>

I am getting a clunking noise on my right side suspension, when I go over bumps it was suggested that I have a bad control arm. Is this a fairly common problem in these cars. I have heard they go.

Default This was just covered the other day....

I have the same problem on my Avant. Started as a subtle crunching noise with braking, but then worsened to a clunking/squeeking noise when going over bumps and sometime even when turning the wheels. Worsens the further I drive the car. Need to get the control arms (at least the left one) replaced soon.

Click here for control arm noise postings

Default May be tie rod end(s)

This happened in my A4. I suspected control arm, but was tie rod end (fortunately - a lot cheaper!)
