Default replacing orifice tube

Do I have to release and recharge feron after replacing it?
Anybody have write-up?

Why are you replacing it? Yes, you must discharge, disassemble, recharge.

Default please do not release R134a into the atmosphere

it is best to let a real mechanic with AC equipment do this as to prevent R-134a from venting. thank you.

Default Good point. May as well have them replace the tube too...

...and if the tube is clogged (assuming that is why it is being replaced) the receiver/drier should be replaced too. Since the labor to replace these two parts is not extensive, may as well have a shop do the whole thing.

Default On the bright side, R-134a is much much easier on the environment than R-12, of which...

I'm sure tons was released into the atmosphere in the 70's and 80's... :-|

It's good to see that people are finally getting educated on this type of stuff though! People's level of awareness on issues like this were unheard of even just 10 years ago.
