I was looking for a way to mount and wire my xm roady unit when I stumbled upon the Audi navigation units. I can't afford the E right now, so do I still get satellite radio with the D? I guess the question is, when I'm done w/ electronic mods, I want to have bluetooth, satellite radio, and an ipod hookup, so do I get the 'd' now and upgrade later or save up for the 'e'?

Hmm, what year of A6 do you have? It makes things a whole lot easier if you have a pre 2002 A6 and use the Nav D. Othewise, its a little bit of work but totally manageable. See VWnavi.com teddybgame info and also in this forum. Just search teddybgame. He is a wealth of information. Enough info to melt one's mind. If you have the money, go RNS-E. If not, Go D navi, It will do a good chunk of the e nav stuff but it won't have the bigger screen. Do whatcha like. Plug and play wire harnesses are available from vwnavi.com , navparts, and europarts.us I have yet to fully install mine, so I can't really be trusted for the info I just provided, it's just some things I've been seeing out there. Have a good one!

Is it possible, and if so, how hard would it be to retrofit NAV+ into an A6 without the factory Nav?
