That's all fine, but
1. Audi spec's many things that are overdone.
2. The practical situation for folks doing this is in the non shop environment--most posters in my experience--is they may not even realize to fill the tranny the rest of the way when running, and even if they do are likely to have trouble getting the car level. Leveling the car (if only one end is jacked up or on ramps on flat ground) has much more effect on the fluid level than small changes in temp. Having done it, once the temp is in the general zone the gradual rise in temp is not the predominant factor compared to the other two--a few ounces vs. quart/liter or more.
