Default RS6 interior swap...a nemesisa6 metamorphisis, the 5speed6 way

<b>Some of you may have seen a post or two from "nemesisa6" asking for info on removing the rear seats or about swapping the carpeting.

Well, when my biggest fan here got stuck in his efforts, and asked me for help, how could I say no? Lucky for him, he's only one state away. He packed up all the seats and door panels in the car, and made it over to me.

A quick shot of the twins (both 2002 2.7T's)

The swap was a bonus for nemesisa6 (Marc), as not only was he going from the "Luxury" seats to the RS6 "Sport" seats, but he was getting a color change as well, going from the Platinum color to Black.

All the parts layed out before the install:

Marc, um......hard at work, helping me:

The rear seats installed:

The front before:

The front seats removed:

The new RS6 seats installed in the front:

Next came the door panels. They were a bit of work, as the RS6 ones that Marc received were completely stripped of all their hardware and wiring (trim, latch/speaker housing, upper lighting, speakers, switches).

Front door panel before:

Door panel removed:

New RS6 door panel installed:

For now, we had to re-use the switches in the Platinum color, until Marc sources ones in Black.

A comparison of the front and rear (plus Marc proving to me why he couldn't do this install, as it took him 5 minutes to get his glove box to close :P):

Rear door panel installed:

Total job time was 5 hours the first day (Marc got to me pretty late in the day, and we finished up at 12:30AM) This included me spending 15 minutes looking for my 17mm deep socket that was not where it should have been, and Marc spending 15 minutes searching for a nut that got away from him.

Another 1 and half hours finished up the job (doing the front door panels plus a VAGCOM scan).

Everything came out working perfect, and I'm sure Marc will post up his impressions of the new interior.

Default I bought an extra one for myself, spent 2 hours looking for it for him..

..it's one of those things I put away for safekeeping, that even I don't know where it is.
