S6 Avant vs. M-B E55 Wagon or E500W?
I am thinking of replacing the S6 Avant with an MB wagon and am wondering about all comparison aspects.
Acceleration superiority obviously goes to the E55 Benz, but how about other important performance traits and interior accomodations?
Handling?
Steering feel?
Cornering grip?
Rear seat leg room?
Rear cargo area capacity?
Look and quality of interior materials?
Any relevant thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Anything people will tell you here doesn't matter. You need to drive them back-to-back, then decide.
p.s. you realize all the hard data that you are looing for is all over the internet, right?

I am in the same boat and what attracted me to the E55 was the 3rd row seat. Unfortunately, I cannot justify 90K for a wagon and Mercedes completely nickles and dimes you with the options. I mean $1,500 for Xenon lights on an car of this price is just silly.
Having said all that - the E55 wagon is a beast. It is just not for me.
I am going to wait and see what the new S6 wagon is like...

The problem is...
...hard data doesn't always tell you what you want to know, at least not in my book.
Okay, it might for dimensions, but sometimes those numbers are fudged, too. And as for performance data, it doesn't always tell the whole story either, right? I mean, the Corvette looks great on paper, but I wouldn't want to own one.
I was looking for meaningful feedback from a fellow Audi enthusiast. I want to read about personal driving experiences with both vehicles.

90K almost 500hp, 13 MPG I think you should buy two :-) Seriously though, great looking car, IMHO..
crazy performance #'s. No personal experience though. I've driven my friends S500 w/sport package and absolutely loved it. I know not the same but that's my only MB driving experience.

Our opinions aren't worth squat! Drive the cars back to back. Is there any reason you want to
get rid of your S6? If you drive in snow, the Benz isn't going to able to handle it nearly so well.
