Does any one know if the dealers will gouge on price for the S6 or will there be discounts to be had?? What the past history for the S4 and S4 Avant in this area??

The S6 Avant impending arrival has already been hyped up quite a bit. Its a given that the dealers are going to gouge the limited inventory.
Would not surprise me to see a "dealer adjusted market value", going for above sticker.

You will probably se 110% of msrp just like the S8 was but that won't last. A guy at my dealership told me that they sold the last one they had for about 3000 under sticker.

"manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price." This applies to the consumer AND the dealer. Just as you can buy some cars below msrp, others will fetch more than msrp.
I'm for slightly reducing the overall msrp on all Audis, and then fixing the price like MB.

With the anticipated price so close to the A6 4.2 sedan already , there doesn't seem to be enough market for both an S and regular version - for a few thousand dollars price break, would you choose a regular 4.2 Avant over the S6 ? I would bet not. It would just be splitting hairs. Same goes for the Allroad. Only 5000 are sold per year at present rates. A fully optioned Allroad costs in the 50K range. A V8 Allroad could end up costing more than the S version. Audi wouldn't really be selling more cars, just raising costs by offering more versions.
The wagon market is pretty limited over here. Audi already gives us more choice than most auto makers.

I paid 1200 bucks below MSRP in March (+1700 for a special order color). However, my dealer has about 5 S4 Avants sitting on their lot gathering dust. I am sure they will deal on those. The S6 will be the same...low production/low demand/high dollar automobile...if you can wait I bet you will get a screaming deal on these cars...The way the economy is going ...not a lot of folks buying these cars....
