Barbarism seems to think that only "soccer moms" want S6's. This soccer dad couldn't disagree more. I think I can speak for most S6 Avant owners when I say that our prayers have been answered by Audi. For those of us who need a wagon, the S6 gives us the utility we want with speed and handling few cars can match. Today I coached 2 indoor soccer games and held an open house (I'm a real estate agent). I was able to get 2 bags of soccer ***** and equipment and three open house signs in the back of my S6. And I didn't have to remove my ski boot bag and back pack. Not to mention that Jett, our greyhound, would be pretty uncomfortable in the trunk of a sedan on family (5 of us) trips. Yeah, an S6 sedan would be nice for some, but I love my wagon. By the way, the soccer mom in our house drives a BMW 330ci convertible.

Like, why not! So the S6 sedan sales kill A6 4.2 sales- who cares! Audi still makes money selling lots of S6's, the S6 sedans beat 540's and GS430's at every stoplight and everybody should be happy, right?
To put all that luxury, technology and extra HP in just a station wagon wagon is just plain goofy. It makes no sense to me and I'm sure BMW et al are glad they don't.

I agree that Audi should import the S6 sedan, but I'm glad that in a fit of goofiness they decided to send me the car I've been looking for since our third child was born (he's 10 now). By the way, BMW has been importing its goofy but not very roomy 540iT for years, and don't forget the goofy but slow MB E320 4matic. :-)

I would probably be driving one, even though we already have a perfectly good mini-van for the family. The look, performance, and exclusivity would have been worth the extra $$$ to me, and the body style is plenty cool by itself. BTW, the difference in price from what I can see is around $8-10K sticker, not $15K. Maybe Canadian dollars?

for our 4.2 and S6, similarly equipped (no nav). Approximately $4k of that difference was taxes. Approximately $1500 was the difference in "amount above invoice"...so about $7500 was actual sticker difference...still it adds up to $13k.

You guys see what we're dealing with? We're dealing with parents and children and soccer games. This is a mini-van driver. The S6 is nothing more then a mini-van driver's dream car -- a mini-van with the essence of sport. The testosterone is still pumping, the dollars are rolling but you're stuck with a lot of kids.
