Default Sap on the hood

Just one drop, dry (one week old). Removed most of it with my finger, but there is some left. What to do? Thanks.

Default It sounds silly and I have been ridiculed for it before but . . .

cologne. Preferably expensive (because they use high quality oils). Just spray a little and wait a couple of minutes. It's just the alcohol working but the oils that are in it provide some protection against scratching while cleaning. Wipe with water and cloth. Add some wax afterward to the area (the alcohol will evaporate) and your done. Works great.

(I'm not joking)

Default Re: Sap on the hood - Try WD 40

I've been told--and used--WD 40 before. Works great. Just remember to use another cleaner to clean off the WD 40 residue afterward.

Default Most anything works ...

Goo Gone, Xenit, I usually just use warm water. Sap is one of the easier glops to remove from a car, unless it is on a convertible top.

Ditto - WD 40 does it.

Meguiars makes some tar/sap remover, if you want to go the Gucci designer route.
