Anybody know whether the current Sat Nav Plus system (with the 5" LCD display in the centre console) can be retro fitted with TV function? In the UK, the TV function is an ~£700 option on the standard Sat Nav Plus system. Most used cars don't have this extra feature and I was therefore wondering if it could be fitted afterwards by a dealer or specialist.

I doubt it would be easy. The TV tuner is supposedly an add-on to the same Navplus head unit, kind of like adding a CD changer to Concert. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the tuner and wiring were in all Navplus units with programming to activate it (any company that charges several hundred pounds for relay 605 would stoop that low IMHO).
As an aside, if you are a UK Audiphile, the prices of Navplus with TV are coming down in MY2002. I think £2800 or just over for Navplus with TV on the MY2002 A6.
I'm considering Navplus next time I change and then trying to locate the tuner to see if I can get a feed from a trunk mounted DVD player, or even more fun a small CCD camera! If you get somebody to do the TV upgrade, please post any details of input location and wiring that you may uncover.
Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for the info Chris, but I was asking 'cause I'm looking to buy a used A8 or S8 at the moment and I want the Sat Nav Plus system with TV. However, most don't have the TV functon hence the question.
Will keep you informed of any progress.
Thanks.
