Default SCOOP...BREAKING NEWS!!...Audi BLINKS!!!...Changes Fishmouth Grill (No Joke)----->

<b> <i> <font color="red"> SEE FOR YOURSELF!</font> </i> </b>

These photos are fresh from the Audi 2005 "Media Information" Guide. Here's the A6:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/19949/05a6new2.jpg">

And, just in case you may think those two chrome strips added to the grill to DE-EMPHASIZE its "fishmouthedness" are photochopped "highlights" rather than a physical change in hardware trim on the car, take a look at these new closer-up shots of the A8 W12 from the same Audi publication:

Honestly, I don't think these chrome strips really help, but they CERTAINLY tell you tons about Audi's level of confidence in the appeal of the Fishmouth.

For reference: The non-added-chrome-strip-Fishmouth in a photo posted here when cars were being U.S.-tested earlier (not license plate area for U.S. plate)...

Default That's blinking?

Two strips of door edge chrome on the plate holder bar? I guess if you can run w/o a front plate.....

They are smart for covering as many preferences as possible.

So you're buying one now, right? ;-)

Default Yeah, but in the trunk of every new C6 is an alternate center-piece

for a front license plate. Looks better than the one pictured in your post. I had one posted in my picture post earlier, but deleted it last night when cleaning up my pictures. The only difference with the actual front bracket is that there are no chrome strips, and the flat part where the plate goes is not centered on the horizontal bias, but the top edge lines up with the top edge of the center strip. Does not look too bad, but it loses the chrome strips.

I will repost the pic when I get home tonight.

Default What makes you conclude that those aren't mounting points for plates?

Certainly look like it.

Car and Driver test car had the strips. It detunes the nose, looks better.

Default Those aren't mounting points for the plates.

I've seen one and they are decorative.

LOL, they're big magnets so you don't have to drill the bumper

Default I looked in the trunk of the C6 I took out for a ride, and LO!

there was the alternate front center piece for front mounted license plate. It looks better than the one in the above post, but no chrome strips.

I suppose someone will find a way to mount a plate onto the center piece with the chrome strips, but Audi provides a part for that already.

I will repost the picture when I get home tonight, and you can judge for yourself.
