Scratched Reflector Doing Clear Corners

Scratched Reflector Doing Clear Corners
Well, I tackled the clear corner mod this past w-end. It's a nice mod, except in my haste at removing the orange reflector, I ended up scratching the chromelike reflector housing inside one headlight. It's not that bad, but of course I notice it every time I look at my car.
Has anyone tried to replace the chrome-like reflector housing (for lack of a better word) in a halogen housing before? Is this possible or am I just going to have to grin and bear it?
Also, thanks to Steve Linder for his post on this mod in the tech section. If I would have had a snips instead of a pliers, It would have turned out perfect. This is a nice mod. Don't be afraid of the bumper removal part! Thanks to all on this board for all the good info! It's a great resource and the link should come standard with all new Audi's!

I dont think you can remove the reflector part...
thats what makes it so difficult to get that little orange reflector out. i had to chop mine up pretty good before i got it all out of that little space...if the scratch isnt that bad i wouldnt be concerned.

Great!
I wanted to do it as well but wanted to make sure the tech article worked for the 98's before I put myself in a situation where my bumper would not go back on.
Do you have anything to add to the post, tools used, time involved etc?
Also, which link (which tech article) did you follow and can you post the link? I want to follow the same one.
Thanks.

Here tis
Nothing other then what's recommended in the tech post. But make sure you use a wire cutters when you chop up that orange reflector. If you end up having any problems, shoot me an email and I will try to help you out. Looks nice though.
Good luck!
I posted the link, but not sure if it works or not. Even though I've been lurking for several years on this board, I'm still kind of a newbee in the posting dept!

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext.html</a

I hear you man....
The only thing is though, it's one of those things that wears on a guy. Kind of like a pimple on prom night!
I'm pissed I didn't use a cutters. Dumb daddy dumb.
I suppose my only other solution would be to get the xenon housings to upgrade, or pick up a used set of halogens off someone who has already upgraded.
