New A6 2.7T; first day service reminder said 10,000 miles to next service. After 3 weeks and 1000 miles, it now says 2000 miles to next service. Does that mean it has a computer calculating the time/distance to required oil change? Audi pays for the 10,000 mile service; what have others done for the in-between service? My dealer is 50 miles from here.

oil quality based on opacity (or so I'm told!)
So yes, the time/miles to next service would adjust up or down as needed...
Doesn't Audi pay for all service for 4yrs/50k miles? (i.e. actually upto 50k miles, not just "the 50k mile service", so it doesn't matter when your "10,000 mile service" is done...
