I've been using Shell V-Power Premium for 3 months now, and I'd have to say its the best premium fuel I've ever used. I talked to my mechanic, Audi, and a Shell research rep and said its fine to mix their 93 Premium with 100 racing fuel to get a better performance boost.
I've used it, mixed it, and its awsome. Now they have Nitrogen enriched fuels in the Unleaded, Plus, and V-Power Premium which makes it clean the motor out. I recommend to use it, V-Power is awsome!

The engine runs better, seriously. Shell's gasoline always had more cleaning agents than anyother gas. It cleans the gunk out. And now with Nitrogen addative, its even better. I definately noticed a performance difference without a doubt.
The nitrogen is a pantent cleaning agent that after so many tests from Shell and other research places, it actually does clean the crap out. Yes, I do feel the difference

I can find online just says that SHELL says it cleans the motor. Can't really find any independent research. I have run this stuff in my 4.2 and noticed no difference at all from BP, or MOBIL.
I'm just saying....You sound like you work for them.

I think it's just marketing.
I wonder if the fuel still meets BMW's specifications.
Probably.
Requires 50K mile test with intake valves weighed before and after test.
IIRC, Shell used similar pictures of dirty and clean intake valves with their old V-power system.
In this economy I have to believe the only reasons to do this nitrogen enhanced BS is either marketing or cost....in this case probably both. I have yet to see any tech articles or EPA approvals/tests. Chances are this stuff exceeds LAL (Lowest Additive Level) for intake valve deposit cleaning; the question is whether it is indeed better or just less expensive than the old V-power, which was PDG in my experience.
Is it worth the generally 5-10 cent per gallon Shell markup...right next to Mobil station in my area!! LOL.

personally i'm not a big fan of shell gasoline, the big girl likes mobil, and i've been using mobil products for a long time....you could use cr@p gas, if you mix it with 100 octane, your car will appear to be quicker....100 octane does nothing for these cars....i used enough of it on the track and saw no measureable difference....btw, it's all i use in the p-car
