There is no logical reason to put bigger tires on the back of a front heavy AWD or FWD car. If you are talking looks and don't care about handling then go ahead with the bigger tires in back. Whichever way you go, make sure the diameters of all the tires are the same.

With the RWD and relatively less weight in front your RX7 could give power oversteer but an AWD car, unless it is extremely light in front like a Porsche, won't do this. Actually the Porsche AWD system uses a viscous coupling so that more power goes to the rear and really only when the rears are slipping.

so for the same diameter (16 inches) and the same aspect ratio (55), a change in width from 215 to 225 will result in a sidewall that is 5.5 mm "taller" than the original...which will give you a larger rolling diameter...a 1.7% error.
To make things nearly exactly the same diameter you'd need to go to a 235/50/16 tire...where overall the sidewall would be just 0.8 mm difference whice is negligible.
Here's a good link...<ul><li><a href="http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html">http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html</a</li></ul>
