The show 5th Gear on Speed said they would pick the new A6 over the BMW 5 and Mercedes E class

I love the episode where Gavin tests the new 5. He said that
it's like marrying a very clever wife who isn't all that attractive, and then always having to tell people at social gatherings that you married her for her brains, if not her looks ;-)

Best non-racing show on Speed, that one is
except they took it out of Monday primetime and keep hiding it in the schedule. I know I could tape or Tivo it, but dammit why not put it back where it belongs???
BTW, if you like the tone of Fifth Gear, you should be reading Brit mags like Top Gear (where most of the show comes from) and CAR. They are much, much better looking and written than the US mags, except for Automobile which tries to copy their tone and uses several of their writers.

Thread hijack re: F1 on Speed
Just as an FYI, I was reading in a TV industry rag about a 15 year old kid who pitched Bernie E. about getting some F1 rights for the US. His dad's in the biz so he thought nothing of sending Bernie a business plan, and then taking a big meeting with him. So according to this article, the San Marino GP on 4/24 will be on CBS. Doesn't say if Speed will also carry it.
Apparently Bernie said he couldn't do anything with F1 in the US so he's letting the kid take a crack at it. This kid's "brilliant" idea is that motor sports in the US and Europe have nothing in common. He wants to pitch F1 to a younger, hipper audience that's swayed by the exotic locations, glamour and high-end lifestyle. He plans to use hip hop and other artists to promote F1 and make it "hip." He says that Speed wants F1 just to control it so it doesn't hurt NASCAR ratings. Speed is in the 2nd year of a 3 year deal, and says they will bid aggressively to keep F1. I wonder how this will play out.

It is a great show. That woman's lower lip freaks me out, though.
She does a very British thing with her lower lip. It looks very uncomfortable, but I guess it's a matter of conditioning and training.
