Slider Pins on HP2 Calipers

3M tri-M-ite wet'r dry paper (220 works well) is my abrasive of choice, others differ. Classic is not to use emery cloth but even regular brown sandpaper is as bad re grains of sand or emery, pick your poison.
If you don't have an air compressor, get one. Even a small one is better than nothing and brake work usually involves an air wrench. Electric wrenches suck...I've got two of them, a Harbor Freight and a DeWalt, and neither has the punch of an Ingersoll-Rand 1/2" drive at 135psi. The bigger compressors just give you more CFM...and don't kid yourself, the 4.4cfm rating of my IR is specious...the air usage curve (cfm vs rpm) works out to more like 20cfm! Of course, the compressor rating is continuous cfm at X psi, but that's what the tank is for! Small compressor and larger tank works as well as large compressor and small tank for intermittent use.
Go to a gas station and blow out the piston if you don't wanna buy a cheap compressor.
There is one other option but it's messy. Years ago I didn't have an air compressor available so I used a grease gun to blow out a single piston caliper. The problem is you then have to clean ALL the grease out of the caliper....used a lot of kerosene/gasoline after scooping/wiping out the grease in the cylinder.

Thanks for the rebuilding tips.
I'm going to place an order with ECS for the rebuilding kit for the caliper. Where would I locate this 3M tri-m-ite paper? While I was browsing their catalog, I noticed an updated oil filler cap for my 2.7 that has a pressure relief valve. Is this a worthwhile investment?
Thanks
