For the first minute or so, the ECU is in catalyst heat mode and the ignition timing is super retarded to get a lot of heat into the cat quickly. With my 4.2 it is very noticeable and the idle is rough. As soons as air injection pump turns off, it cleans up the idle quality and "feels" normal again. A buddy of mine works down the street in the engine calibration group and assures me everything is working as it should.
