...and my friend and I got a nice tour and 40-minute discussion with one of the ownership guys. Very friendly, knowledgeable and easy-going. Now, I know Porsche is its own breed, but I couldn't help but think what a pleasant dealership experience.
We talked leisurely about the cars, looked at the new 911 and Boxster S (dealer guy was very high on this car) and a couple of nasty 911 Turbo X50's. Then we went into the shop where he showed us the underside of the Boxster S raising one up on a lift to show how three quarters of the bottom of the car is covered by a flat cover to add downforce. Talk about showing off product knowledge!
Also in the garage area, a Carrera GT ($438,000 sticker) was resting. Black car looked absolutely sick-wild!

What a beast...just stunning. Like it almost shouldn't be driven, but rather displayed in a museum. Amazing.

As a result of our conversation, I'm now thinking of giving these guys my "perfect 911 (997)" requirements sometime later this summer, and letting them take their time to find a one-owner CPO that fills the bill. Should get me that elusive $10,000 price reduction (thank you, Randy)!
Pheasant shooting and Porsche looking...not a bad way to spend a sunny February day!

Use to go pheasant hunting couple times a year; but, sadly I haven't been in about three years. Were
you working a dog? We raised german shorthair pointers when I was a kid. Awesome to watch them work. Cars and birds, my you did have a great day.

I'll say. Thing is sick.
Here's a picture of mine. I let the LA Auto Show borrow it last year. It was a nice car, but I've since sold it and upgraded to an Audi A6 2.7T.

It was hunting at a club...1200 acres in S. Wisconsin. Two dogs...
...one a German Shorthair, one a lab. The guide who worked the dogs said how some people say it's impossible to work a pointer and a flusher together, but these two were just amazing. Watching the dogs work is a major part of the fun for sure.
(So, is that dog in your sig a German Shorthair you just spray painted?)

Damn bet those two were quite a sight! Cookie the dog in
the photo is my sons dog. Long story; but, they kind of pick each other. She's highly intellegent and even has a bit of a hunting nose and instinct. You could have knock me other with a feather when we took on a hunting trip (so she wasn't home alone) and she started to hunt.
