Default So my temp gauge sticks on C most of the time, sometimes it will miraculously

read correctly. I'm hoping its just the coolant temp sensor. Where is that bit on the 4.2? i've STFA but can't find info specific to the 4.2...

getting a clip &amp; o-ring is highly recommended....best deal is audipartsdepot

Default yea, its down there (really bad access, be sure to keep the car sit to cool down, and open the exp..

tank. I got burn, and when i did try to pull my hands out i got scratched. Its a pretty tight area, and it was 2.8). Good luck ;o)

If it reads correctly sometimes it's most likely the connector to the sensor.

Default only relieve any pressure by opening the expansion tank lid

if you leave it off, or open the lid while the coolant temp sensor is out, coolant will pour out the opening. It's below et level...

Default fixed. thanks for the quick responses, as always.

unfortunately, found that the vacuum diaphragm linkage was broken for my intake runners while i was in there. or maybe fortunately. cause now I get some extra hp, right

Default Nice choice in cars...

I have an A6 avant and a TT as well. Same colors, but alas no S6.

Same issue, but with the oil temp gauge.
