as I posted...
1. Rotors are always coverered (like any part)under the new car warranty against manufacturing defects.
2. They are also covered as a maintanance item under the Audi Maint program...4years or 50K miles.
However...Audi changed the program a bit.
2000-2003 Pads and Rotrs get replaced as part of Maint. If the rotor warped betwen the maint interval, then it was deemed a mfg defect and again replaced under the defect warranty.
2004+ Audi changed the "spec" Only pads are replaced during the maint interval. Rotors are not replaced and are never cut/resurfaced.
If there is a mfg defect in the rotor it could be replaced under the normal warranty.
Regardless of you model year, if you gouge the rotors due to worn out pads cutting into them..metal to metal you are out of luck. No replacement.

Just me BD, but I would never change rotors based on Audi's min thickness specs...
IMO, this spec is an Audi CYA spec and a great sales tool for new rotors. I have 315K on original 5KTQ and 225K on 200Q-20V UFO rotors, best brakes ever. Once saw a Ford vented rotor worn thru to the internal slots, worked just like the slotted rotors that every one raves about.

I agree with the Audi spec as you posted. Never routinely resurface a rotor because...
most all brake lathes are not regularly serviced and at their best they induce some rotor runout on the hub, never achieving the zero runout achieved by normal wear on the hub. So, why loose good rotor material? Before rotor removal one should mark each rotor to hub orientation with center punch marks and always return a rotor to its same hub and orientation. Never done by for hire wrenches.

Ha... :-)
I have an 03 allroad. Lots of pads and rotors on Audi. On my firs self pay, I had my indy cut the rotors. The lasted 1000 miles befor they vibrated all over the place. I then replaced them.
I also have an 04 Cab, Pads only. Still running on the original and uncut rotors. And it feels and stops fine.
I just ordered ECS Slotted/Zinc for the allroad, front and rear. (125k on the clock) they should hold up well.
