I have on my 2002 4.2 and I love it. Even my wife noticed a difference. Took only about 2 min.

Default Where are you?

I'm going to be in NH (Seabrook Beach) all next week. If you could get down there, I'll reprogram your transmission for free. I did mine and it's a great thing. Only downside is MPG goes down.

Send me email if you're interested.

Default TIP works in 1st gear

With 00032:
In "D", everything is about the same as stock. It has a slightly more agressive shift pattern as the transmission is set to permanent sport mode. Shifts are a bit crisper.

In TIP mode, from a dead stop, it will hold 1st gear as long as you like. This is big fun. If you accelerate super slow in "1", it'll shift to "2", but that's not a problem.

Just like stock, you still can't downshift into "1" while decellerating (sort of annoying, but the same as stock).

Better throttle response, unchanged highway fuel economy, worse urban mileage.

Default // should I be worried when ...

I take it in for service and they notice something "different" when they road test it? My real concern is over-reving. It seems likely that a tech that takes it out for the road test may over-rev it.

Default It works for 2000 and later, perhaps before.... Car should be off, in P, key on.

I haven't heard of your problem before, so it may be a procedural issue. But, I haven't seen reports for 98, but IIRC someone reported a 99 working (perhaps 99.5). What year is your car?
