Sound clip -- S8 4.2 with X-pipe and dual exhaust.
It's amazing how much smoother this sounds compared to the sound clip with an H-pipe exhaust in one of the replies to the original post.

I believe they're 2-1/2" pipes, ...
OE is 2-1/4. The car belongs to Swen_S8 from the Netherlands.
This is the <A HREF="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/56520.phtml">Original Post</a> (note the lack of cats and any crossover), then he installed the cats and H-pipe, and finally he replaced the H-pipe with an X-pipe in this <A HREF="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/75063.phtml">Final Post</a>. In this last post he comments that performance "definitely improved in the higher revs" from the X-pipe change alone, and he reports a 292 g/sec MAF reading.
