"Although, my problem was intermittent starting failure. How will I know if this actually fixed my issue? The engine started normally the last five times I tried it (in my garage). The failure to start was completely unpredictable -- one minute it would start, a few hours later it wouldn't, a few hours later it would." My problem is more like, if i let the car sit for about 2 hours, never if car sits longer. (maybe ignition wires?)

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1713093.phtml</a

The sensor is read at startup only, once running it's just there. Shut the car off and it immediately won't start. Let it sit for awhile then it starts again. The sensor gets hot, fails, then once it cools off it works again.

No Crank and TIP----likely your multifunction or ignition switch.
Crank but no start----likely coolant temp sensor. especially if it always starts first thing in the morning but fails to restart after warm.
