Has anyone ever taken the spark plug cap off of the ignition coil? I have a '01 2.7 tip and the ignition coils screw into the valve cover. I have all new plugs and connectors but want to use the same coils. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you're talking about the "boot" that extends from the coil to the spark plug, that just pulls right off the coil. Just redid the coils and plugs on my '01 2.7 and was messing with the old coils because I could, the stalk just pops on and off like a spark plug wire does on a non-coilpack'd car.

FWIW, the stock coils don't snap into the spark plug terminal, just a spring connector so you shouldn't need any kind of plug wire puller.

Yea the "boot" was what I was talking about. About five minutes after asking the question, though, I realized they do just pull off (just can't be limp wristed). Thanks for trying to help though.
