and it fit well with no gaps? if yes then maybe it fits the 4.2 better?

change the tape, get some super duty 5lb rated, interior/exterior double sided tape from Home Depot, Lowes, or ACE Hardware. I have the M5 spoiler from same, the tape sucks, replaced it with stronger tape.
