I just got off the phone with AoA and all cars ordered with option package "PSL" or the sport package being built after week 45 of 1999 WILL have the upgraded "sport suspension" as part of this option selection.
As we all know, this package originally only included 17" wheels and sport seats. Now we know that Audi has added the tuned suspension. Confusion aside, its a welcome piece of news for myself who ordered the car in late September.

for several months and it ALWAYS included 17" polished alloy wheels and sport seats. If you don't believe me, please try the audiusa.com website and its an obvious option package in pretty clear English.
However, your question about the suspension upgrade is valid. But this rep at AoA has been dead accurate in explaining both the delayed intro of ESP and now the sport package upgrade. Based on this, I'll give him/Audi the benefit of the doubt and hopefully not be suprised when the car arrives in late Feb, early Mar.

I did not see any mention of sport seats being available for the 4.2. My car does have the 17" 255/40 tire and wheel set. I will let you know about the seats.

The cheaper package ($750) only includes 17" wheel and tire upgrade (255/40ZR17 tires on 17x8 8-spoke pie-dish wheels). The sport package includes the above (perhaps with a different wheel design) and the sport front seats for $1,500. Personally, I haven't seen any A6 4.2's with the sport package yet. Al the cars I've seen comne with the $750 optional wheels.

I'm only guessing, but you probably ordered the wheels only at $750. The "new" sport package including the upgraded suspension, the wheels and the seats suposedly MSRP's for $1750.

When my buddy first ordered his 4.2 (back in June), there was no option for the sport seats. In fact, I had to reorder my 2.7T to get the sports package (also ordered in June). Sorry for the confusion.

Steve,
Did your AoA rep mention what the difference was between the stock suspension and the sport suspension? I haven't ordered mine yet and would love to know what the differenece is before I order.
