Default squeak in the back seat revisited:

I heard this squeak when I first bought the car. It was under warranty so I took it to the dealer to fix. Well it came back, about 6 months later. On the receipt it says they "adjusted the rear-seat latch striker"

I am having trouble figuring out exactly what(and how) I should be adjusting. Should I call the dealer and ask?

Default hmm, if I had to guess

I'd be thinking they mean the bolt that the latch attaches to, which is a real pain to get right. that's the only adjustment I've ever done to one.

Air tools?

Default nah

it's one of those deals with either a nut on each side or a not with a threaded hole, I can't remember which, it's been over a year for me. I most definitely did NOT have to use a great deal of force adjusting mine. I only use air/power tools on things that aren't inside the car in most cases( a seatbelt or seat would be some of the few exceptions, and even those I typically just just a torque wrench with some weight)

Default I agree that you probably should look at the "pin" that the seat latches to...

...you need a 17mm deep socket to remove the locking nut, and then you can adjust the pin either inward or outward by threading it then relocking it with the nut.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v739/hliu55/rear%20seat%20swap/rearseat7.jpg">

You might want to use some tape or something to see where the latch is striking the pin, so you know which direction to go.

If that does not work, you could remove the latch an re-seat it to see if that helps any. The latch is held in by a small torx bolt under the lever and a large phips head screw by the latch itself (refer to pictures below).

Hope this helps!
