Default Standard S6 versus Chip-Logic S6 (long)

After his S6 was replaced by Audi South Africa, Warren had to have all the modifications re-done again for his new(er) S6 at Chip-Logic.
The mods comprise of re-mapping the S6's computer, additional air intake before the air filter, BMC air filter, removing the catalytic converters and modifications to the exhaust.

The best way to compare the two S6's was to put them side by side and go. The result are as follows:
changing to second gear Warren's S6 was ahead of me by 1/3 of a car's length
Changing to third gear Warren's S6 was ahead of my S6 by 3/4 of a car's length
While in third gear Warren pulled away from me and from then on my S6 was constantly losing ground.

We did 6 standing start trials and the results were consistent. We also tried from second gear and again Warren's S6 kept pulling away.

I also drove Warren's S6 and the most obvious difference was that from 4000 rpm not only did his S6 felt smoother but the rpm's built up to 7000 quicker than my S6. When I drove my S6 afterward it felt as if the engine was chocking between 4000 & 7000 rpm in comparison to Warren's S6. The strange thing though is that my S6 has a harder suspension than Warren's S6 and less body roll!! Warren also confirmed this when he took a ride in my car.

I must point out that Warren's S6 was at a disadvantage versus my S6, as he only has 1750 km (1088 miles) whereas mine has 10500 km (6526 miles) and he had standard low octane fuel (93 Euro/88 US Octane) whereas my car had a mixture of racing fuel and standard low octane fuel giving approximately 98 euro/93 US Octane fuel.

Chip Logic also had Dyno runs data. However, at the time there was something wrong with their computer as can be seen on the graphs were the line would all of a sudden plunge down and then come back up. Nevertheless, from the data I've seen it seems that the improvement of Warren's car standard vs. modified is something around 45 to 50 bhp, which is nearly a 15% improvement which equals 390 bhp at the fly wheel, at sea level. According to Chip- Logic the exhaust system accounts for 8 bhp, the additional air intake for the air filter and the BMC air filter, 3 bhp and the balance of 34 to 39 bhp accounts to the re-mapping.

Wherever the dyno data is correct or not, doesn't really matter. The point is that Warren's S6 is notably faster than my standard S6, even with the better fuel and more mileage I have.
Thus I will seriously consider having those mods done to my car, specially in view of the loss of power we get at Johannesburg's 4500 ft elevation, which in turn will not stress the engine, gearbox etc..., as much as if I was living at sea level.

Chip-logic has confirmed that what has been done to Warren's S6 could not be done in the USA due to the emission regulations. I was unable to find out where Chip-Logic got their re-mapping data from. All I know is that it comes from Germany.

Now some of you may be wondering if the Chip-Logic S6 will be able to take on a BMW M5? Maybe if the M5 driver is so, so. Otherwise the manual gearbox of the M5 will give a definitive advantage to the M5. I don't think that the 10 or 15 bhp extra for the M5 and the 66 lbs less weight for the S6 would make much difference.

You did 7000 RPM on a new car with only 1088 miles on it? I think your car will be faster very soon

It's only 162 miles short of the recommended 1250 miles running - in, nothing to fuss about
