After digging around a bit, I wasnt able to find much in the way of concrete info regarding steel wheels that will clear HP-2's.
I found some wheels, that are 6 1/2"J x 16 et42 5x112, think these would fit? The offset should be good, and the car came stock with 16s.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I just bought 4 factory aluminium 16 inch rims off craigslist for 200 bucks and put winters on them and was done.
They aren't pretty ones but they are only for winters so who cares really.

Not on a 2.7T with HP-2s you didn;t....
No steel wheel made in anywhere near the correct offset will clear the calipers.
very few 16" alloy wheels will either. Its the winter-tire nightmare.

Are you kidding? 16" wheels were initially standard on 4.2A6 cars, 17" were optional. There are a couple in my development….you can tell because they're the ones without bent wheels! LOL!

Yes, alloy 16s. And rare ones at that. I have two sets - 16 x 8 (rare right there) x 35mm, with concave spokes. You can also get the 2.7t :"snow" wheels, and a few others, including some mille miglia, Ronal R7, R28 (out of business) and some cheapies from TR that bend all the time.
but no, there are not 16" steel wheels that clear the HP2s. And the vat majority of Audi OEM 16" wheels from various A6 models wont fit either.

My 02S6 tire pressure sticker notes 215/55R16 tires for M&S apparently were available stock…makes me wonder if Audi had steel wheels available as an option….as you know 02S6 had HP2 calipers…probably a Europe-only option. Can you imaging 215/55R16 skinny tires on a curb wt car over 4K #?!
Maybe they used a generic sticker on several models.
