Is a stiff suspension normal for most Audi's??

a BMW? a Toyota? a WRC car? Or even a new A6?
Need more info. If you've been driving a '98 Audi for a while, the shocks have been shot for quite a while haven't they? Perhaps you should drive some new sport and non-sport models and see what appeals to your butt dyno.

from an '03 2.7 and have been very pleased.
I like a smooth ride that is in no way harsh and the OEM sport suspension has provided that. It is definitely more firm than non-sport, but is still very smooth and pleasing, plus it handles corners more precisely.
Many people here like the H&R coilover setup finding it to be a very good balance.

not in general- just when there is a dip in the road and it does the boat thing- cornering etc. seems fairly precise- but I am curious what other suspension options there are I could try that wouldn't hurt my warranty or murder my wallet

My '92 100 ran stiffer suspension settings than my '99 A6.
I don't think you can modify the suspension without opening yourself up to potential issues should you need warranty service.

and I also have a 2000 2.7t with non-sport springs. My biggest complaint on the non-sport suspension is the nose diving and rising during hard braking and acceleration (I have H-Sports for the body roll). Did you notice a difference in this nose behavior with the OEM springs?
Also, how much did the OEM parts and install run? Thanks.
