Wondering if anyone knows whether these are one and the same units or not. Perhaps a better tracking mech or a longer skip buffer in the 610?
Would like to minimize the skipping I get now from stiffening up the suspension. Skipping is not serious but annoying, never noticed how bumpy the roads can be around here.

I have the 610 (plus adapter cable) and normal suspension. It skips once in a while. More noticable with CDR's than real CD's. But at least it plays CDR's, wife's Lexus won't.
BTW the 610 is physically similar but electronically different. Probably intentionally different to deter bypassing Audi's profit. Several online car stereo vendors sell the 610 and adapter cable as a kit for less than the Audi part.

Don't know if all the functionality is retained but I think so. Check with Crutchfield they sell both parts.
