My 2.7T is about 4 weeks old. After I drive it in 90 plus degree temperatures at interstate speeds, I notice a very strong gas odor after I pull into my garage, clearly near the left rear wheel well - opposite the gas fill side.
I brought it into the dealer (of course, it was not as hot outside and was not exhibiting the smell) and they said they checked all the seals, etc. and could find no leaks.
I have taken care not to overfill the fill pipe - it can happen with a half full tank though I haven't noticed it below half). No dripping of gas on the ground beneath the car can be detected.
Can anyone shed light on this situation? I'm scheduled back to the dealer next week and wonder what I can ask them to check this time. (No "Explosion in the garage" jokes please....)

The truth is, I've never before heard of your problem on an A6. I don't recall anyone here ever mentioning it before.
