Default SUCCESS!!!! Fixed the headliner creaking in 2 minutes...

Removed the visor vanity light, took out my Molilube Chain Lube (used on the fabulous Triumph) and positioned the spray straw to the point where the creaking/squeeking was coming from and gave it a few squirts. For those who don't have motorcycles, Chain lube is a light WD-40 like spray, but it leaves a waxy, film that stops the headliner from squeeking against the metal roof beams. I assume Boeshield would work as well, it leaves a coating behind. SANITY at last! CAUTION THOUGH, chain lube is a petroleum product and will stain upholstery, DO NOT spray liberally, a little will go a long way.

Default I had not a creak, but a slight "buzz" (vibration)

I tried the "tighten the metal clip in the visor vanity light" trick and was sure that would do it, since the clip was definitely loose before I performed the surgery. No luck. I ended up popping out the light again and jamming a small rag inside the headliner, then replacing the light. That was in January, and the buzz hasn't returned.

Who says our beloved Audis are expensive to repair?!

Default I have some creaking in the rear half of the headliner when I go diagonal across driveways or ...

speed bumps, slowly. The car flexes tortiolnally, and the fit of the headliner varies a bit as it does so. I'm assuming this is normal; it is not very loud. With 4000 lbs, how rigid can that spindly Aluminum frame be??

Yeah, as if you've never stained a headliner before.

I don't think you should be talking about staining a headliner with a name like "spanky"
