suggestions for 2.7 bi-turbo,a6 ????
ok,so Ive got an audi 2002 a6 2.7 bi-turbo,70k miles..and want to get more bhp out of it bc its stock.Im getting rs6 replica wheels in couple weeks and have 500 left to spend on performance. I was thinking maybe getting a chip but someone told me I will blow my turbos eventually bc i need down pipes to go with that.true/false?? Anyway,if anyone could help me to figure out what should I get i would appreciate.Remember the budget is 500$ . Thanks

Yes, you need to do downpipes before you get a chip.
I have some for sale. $500 and they're yours.

You don't need downpipes.
$500 will get you some ECU programming. That's were most people start off.
I've got a GIAC X-chip for sale, that I could give you a good deal on it.

News flash. Your turbos are going to fail whether you chip it or not!
Of course, it may happen tomorrow or it may happen in 100K miles. Chipping the car can decrease the life of the turbos, but nothing is written in stone.
Think of it like life. We're all going to die someday. If I told you that having more fun meant that you weren't going to live as long, would you stop having fun? My father once said that "I'm here for a good time, not a long time". That's about how I feel about chipping my car. Of course, when turbos fail, you can always replace them (with upgrades!). When your ticker fails, nobody's offering new ones to get you back on the road...
Hit up the archives for lots of info on modifying these cars. Also spend some time on the B5 S4 forum. Our cars share the same engine as theirs and they are big into the mods. There's tons of info on AudiWorld to educate you. Welcome to the greatest love/hate relationship of your life!

ive tried to fit my brothers 01.s4 chip and it wouldnt fit.the tips are just a liiiiiittle bit different. I WAS PIST !! i thought im gonna get away with a free chip..
