supersprint exhaust on the 4.2
#21
If you are driving in 5th gear at 1800 rpm you dont need a sport exhaust.
I drive this car in a sportier way. In city driving I always keep the rpm over 2500 to 3000. second and third gears only. This is where the torque band is just coming on. (3000-4000 rpm) . 4th gear on freeways up to 70 then 5th to cruise. If you are in 5th gear at 1800 rpm its no wonder you are hearing groans from your motor,. Probably some lugging mixed in with the low resonance. I would assume one adds a sport exhaust to enhance performance.. from what you describe, you are not driving the car in such a manner as you would benefit from it. This is probably why you are the only one to have this complaint. My SS system looks great, sounds great and has no unwanted resonance.

Many on this forum have the resonance. It is an automatic car. When on
the highway if you slow down to 60-65 MPH and accelerate lightly you get the dreaded resonance. I drive in a very sporting way but don't want to shift gears all the time and the tranny keeps revs low like ALL AUTO TRANNYS. That's why I have an automatic car. If you want to be shifting gears all the time you should have a manual. The system makes the resonance not only at 1800 but from 1400-2200 RPM. It is very annoying to have to shift because of resonance.
