bring in my own 0W30 M1 from Pep Boys. REASON - the Porsche (0W40 std fill) part of the dealership is apparently moving to a diff location, hence, the future hassle in obtaining 0W40. Anything magical that makes 40 over 30 "essential to protect our hot little turbos" as was recently stated on the S4 Forum.

Too thick can cause problems when the turbo bearing is turning very fast. I don't know if the 0-40 is too thick but unless I had info to the contrary I would use the factory recommended viscosity.

i think 0w40 is the perfect combo. The 40w mobil one is not any thicker, just has different flow properties at 210 deg f then the 30.
