I want to put in replacement bulbs in my 2000 A6 2.7T Quattro, but I don't really like stock bulbs cause they are so yellow compared to the HID headlights.
The Sylvania H3ST bulbs are 100 watt bulbs, and the stock are 55 watt, are the H3ST ok to use or will they mess up the housing?

As far as an aftermarket bulb "messing" up the housing. Thats a NO. I have gone through several different types of bulbs:
PIAA xTreme White Plus
PIAA Super Plasma GT-X's
Some 100w Hella Bulbs
I liked the PIAA Super Plasma GT-X's the best. They look real good with HIDs, IMO. My fog light housing is just fine as it was with the stock bulbs![Big Grin](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Is there a retail store (autozone, advanced, pep boys, or somewhere like that) that sells the PIAAs? And how much are they typically? The Sylvania are $20 normally but on sale for $15 now...

the link that A6 2.8Q posted lists them for over $70 a pair, but I've seen them for as low as $55 a pair. Like I said, they are not cheap.

...which are slightly more yellow than the original forumal bulb. I then switched over the the Super Plasma, which then was replaced with the GT-X version. Both of those are kinda blueish, and a bit less yellow than the Extreme White "Plus."
I found a site that had the older formula Super Plasma bulbs in the H3 which I needed for my 4.2, so I grabbed all they had in stock at the time. Since then, they only carry the GT-X version.
