TBB tear and turbo damage

If it were me, I would compare the sound of my turbos to the sound of those known to be 'pristine' on another A6. If yours sound different, then they simply can NOT be in new condition - they have been damaged/changed in some manner, and certainly not for the better!

this guy is either an idiot or a thief. (Most likely both, since he is trying to rob you, and thinks you're going to let him get away with it.) At this point, if I were you, I'd find another dealer to service my car if at all possible. If this guy would try something this flagrant, do you want to have to deal with him for the rest of your warranty? There is a TSB out on the problem that caused any possible damage to your car. What hs is telling you is that Audi has either a part or design problem that may have damaged your turbos, but he wants you to pay for it. Further more, I believe that it is incumbent upon the dealer/Audi to PROVE that it is your behavior that caused the problem in order to void the warranty. This is something they obviously can't do. Particularly when they have a TSB out that shows the vulnerability of their product to this problem. Most likely this guy would like to bill you for the work, and then have Audi pay them under warranty too! LOL.
If you feel you must deal with this person, look him in the eye and repeat the three sentences above. But at this point, I'd be calling the dealership's general manager/owners, the better business bureau, Audi and maybe a lawyer. Most of all, call another dealer if you have recourse to one.

Are you saying there is a TSB out on the Throttle Body Boots tearing? Please point me to such an item.... I'm aware of a replacement part, but not a TSB.
Thanks
Richard

You are right, I was wrong. There is no TSB listed for the TTB. There is one for oil starvation for the turbos on the 1.8. I must have been remembering the many posts with this problem. That's why it's best not to make statements when I'm angry. However, I still feel asics has been treated very poorly, and I can't apologize for balance of my opinions.

On some cars, there is from day one, a siren heard coming from the turbos. On some there is not. On some, the siren develops after chipping. On some, the siren develops even if not chipped. There's probably some that have been chipped that don't have the siren. Don't replace your turbos unless you notice you're losing power or hear a really heinous noise (not the police siren that sounds like your passenger's whistling it to mess with you) coming from them.
