TCM problems, some advice please?

Hello everyone!
I am new to this forum, but have been visiting a lot lately.
I have a 2004 Audi A6 2.7T.
I've been having problems with the transmission going into limp mode every time it rains heavily. Apparently it is a common (and silly) problem with these audis that the front passenger floor gets flooded and the TCM shorts out or something. I have tried to resolve this problem with my local mechanic. He dried out the module, got it out of limp mode, and actually re-located it under the dashboard. Anyway, the car drove fine for some time, even after some rain. The other night it rained heavily once again and the transmission went into limp mode.
This time i decided to try and fix the problem myself. I took out the glovebox, found the TCM and played around with it, got the transmission out of limp mode (after 2 hours and accidentally pressing down the accelerator thus resetting it).
It drove fine for a good 5 minutes and went into limp mode again while shifting.
I am pretty sure there is just some bad contact between the TCM box and the actual part that connects to the wires.
My mechanic has said that the TCM is fine, transmission itself is fine...it is just the voltage.
Any help, advice, similar stories would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
